back] What I want to say? Boys will be boys! Men and tanks. (Or racing cars.) This is
really somtehing! Worth to think about and work on it. Especially if so many people
have/had to work and to die for, burning so much energy in that short time for nothing.
As I mentioned the Battle of Kursk [link] between
german and russian forces. Not to talk about the incredible personnel casualities, there
were thousands (!) of tanks, assault guns, cannons and airplanes destroyed in less than
two month.
What is the effort to build a tank? What resources does it
take? So you can imagine the deficit of quality of life for millions, if thousands must be
built to blow it. Some of the reasons, even this stereotype of east battling west as a
matter of civilisation, represented in that crazy Kursk-event, making a tank a special
symbol.
This are reasons, why I turned it into a "Racing
Tank" years ago. Fast, dangerous, shooting. A boy thing, mayhem, fetish. A scale
model, based on an american M60A1 medium tank of the U.S.Marines. (See the "Banzai Baby" at the "balkan
buro"!)
I was talking with an expert. Anton Kober (left, on the
right Bernhard Kober) told me a lot about the machine of my interest. I could see some
scale models of Sherman Tanks, the kind, we found in Novi Sad.
This is the startup of an process, of a narration, of
"hands on!", cause Nikola Dzafo ("ART klinika") and me made
some plans. It began on the 1st of january 2010, when we went from Beograd over Fruska
Gora to Petrovaradin. (There is a story about that day, but german only: [link]) ...
