Dear Martin:

Kathleen has lifted Jane Doe off the chalked pavement with the message that there may be some hope for her kin:

There is still time to stop the wild horse slaughter permitted by a rider on the Omnibus Appropriations Act. Here is an online petition sponsored by the Wild Horse Protection folks. Please forward . The goal is 25,000 signatures.

Missouri has two wild herds in the Irish Wilderness area of the Mark Twain - down in Shannon and Carter counties. Washington State has at least one. Texas probably does as well. Oregon does for sure.

As I'm sure all of you already know, horse culture is very important to, and deeply embedded in, American Indian, Irish Gaelic, Welsh and Old British cultures, from which the Western cowboy culture of the American west got it's roots. How ironic that to remain wild you have to hide. How tragic that if we kill the wild without, we also kill the wild within. The wild things in the World are our brothers and sisters in Creation, and as such, we owe them our allegiance and care.

Yr. Obed Scrvnr,
Kathleen

No sooner up & around Jane Doe steamed her mane, roamin' free & headed right for [LINK] ... where you'll find that the myth that wild horses destroy riparian areas is FALSE!
That during droughts wild horses know the preciousness of water, while you'll also learn that the hunt for slaughter is still ON!

When i looked at my shadow this was it. Wild horse.
Come roam with me!
