Colleagues: Külli K. Kaats (Estonia) and Daniele Mosca (Italy) Interactive installation
"Secret Gardens"
was based in crossing technology and nature, placing mobile phones, in which were
downloaded electronic interpretations of different birds' songs and noises (Reed Trush,
Troglodytes, Oriolus, Reed Warbler, Luscinia etc), into the bird-cages. Effective-golden
bird-cages were handmade by artists them selves.
Interesting was the fact, that audience could participate
in installation, making phone calls to different numbers of "birds" inside the
bird-cages, which in all created funny chorus of electronic birds. Besides fun has art
piece also deeper meanings, if we think about the fact, that mobile phones, which are so
elementary in our nowadays everyday life, were closed into bird cases. The situation in
our "Info Age", where is impossible to answer to one phone you can hear and see,
must be similar to the cruel situation, where creation, who was burn to fly, is locked
into the cage just for fun.
