Since February 17th of 2008 they
call it "Republika e Kosovės" or Kosova, Serbians say Kosovo.
I heard a lot of debates about that country in Austria. But what might make the difference
to be there?
I did the road with veterenarian Karl Bauer (right)
and journalist Manfred Kampsuch. On that trip I learned a lot about agriculture. You
smile? You should not! That country was busted in any way. So living there, getting along,
has a lot to do with some basics of agriculture.
The artificial insemination of cows as an important
business for a good development of agriculture ... Two vets in action: Karl Bauer and his
kosovarian colleague Skifter Ajvazi (left).
Of course there is an historical link between
culture and agriculture. But is there any meaning right know, if we connect these
subjects? We were having debates on that and we found out, it is worth some work.
Certainly I discussed these things with artists;
like painter Shpend Qerigi (left) and sculptor Milaim Avdiu. But it is also a matter of
well educated and successfull citizens (like Skifter), havig time, interest and emotions
for contemporary art. So you might get an idea, what I am thinking about, how to setup
something, combining theses aspects.
Who thinks on all the troubles bout bilingual road
signs in Carinthia (Austria) 90 Years after the Great War, might imagine, how delicate
things are in this region. The deep conflicts between Serbs and Albanians are omnipresent.
Simultaneously I found this strong confidence and the will to work hard for the future.
So if I try to initiate a cultural project, focusing
on some questions of Kosova/Kosovo, I don't do that as a "wise guy", who wants
to teach them anything. I was there to get some lessons. I am very curious about our
collaboration and some interchange.
